
Mr. Kang is the Managing Partner of Interlink Equity Fund (IEF), a firm specializing in mid-market private equity and growth equity investments, including direct co-investments and fund of funds (FoF) investments, with a particular focus on technology. IEF is an affiliate of Interlink Capital Strategies, a financial group co-founded in 1994 by Neil Bush (brother of former President George H. W. Bush) and Tim Bridgewater (former U.S. Senate and Congressional candidate). As a member of the IEF Investment Committee, Mr. Kang oversees the fund’s day-to-day investment operations. Before joining IEF, Mr. Kang served as CEO and a member of the International Investment Committee at Sensegain Capital, which manages over US$7 billion in assets. The firm focuses on leveraged buyouts and unicorn investments in industries such as technology, retail, and manufacturing. Mr. Kang’s career began at HP, where he worked as a senior technical consultant, providing expertise in data centers, high-end servers, and storage architecture design. He later served as executive director at BlueFocus, a leading advertising company in China, overseeing M&A and strategic investments in North America. Prior to BlueFocus, Mr. Kang was an investment director in the M&A department of CITIC Securities, where he focused on M&A and capital market transactions. In 2006, Mr. Kang began his Wall Street career as a junior trader in the global structured products group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in New York, specializing in the issuance of structured loans. Mr. Kang holds degrees from Peking University and New York University and is currently based in New York and Washington, D.C.
